Children's Ministries

At Lakes, we believe that it is primarily the responsibility of the parents to shepherd and train their children in the Gospel. With that in mind, we are committed to assisting parents in seeking to direct the hearts of every child toward God and cultivate a spirit which is responsive to Him.

Through each of our classes and activities we strive to create a fun and caring environment where your child will feel safe and receive affirmation. Furthermore, we provide on-going training for all of our volunteers, educating them about our policies for reducing the risk of child abuse.

Please see the description below of the various age appropriate training and activities available for your children.

Nursery

We offer a nursery for infants through 2 yrs. old during every Sunday and Wednesday service.  We have a caring group of women who commit time to offer the highest level of care for our children.  We also offer two separate rooms for our children. The infant and crawler nursery is in one room and the walker up through 2 yr. olds is in a different room.

Preschool

Classes that strategically blend a time of learning, games, singing and more are available for children 3-4yrs. old during both morning services. This group of children also has specialized classes on Sunday and Wednesday evenings.

Kindergarten - 5th Grades

We have a variety of programs offered for our grade school children throughout the year.  You can see a brief description below, and view a more detailed listing in the linked pages.

Salt & Light

During the 9am service our elementary age children join the adults for the music portion of the service and then are dismissed to the lower level for their teaching time.

Sunday School

Age distinct classes meet in the lower level during the 2nd morning service.  The strategic offering of the Generations of Grace curriculum provides a foundational development in the knowledge of Scripture.

Music Makers

Beginning September 15, our newly formed children's choir will meet each Sunday evening at 6pm during the school year.  Here, the children are given basic music knowledge as well as rehearse for programs throughout the year.  This year they will be working on special Christmas performances as well as a spring musical.

CrossWatchers

Each Wednesday evening, beginning September 11th at 6:30pm, our midweek program kicks off with a high energy meeting full of verse memorization, lesson, games, snacks and more.

In addition to these weekly meetings, there are additional activities through the year such as plays, Vacation Bible School, campouts, sleepovers and more!  Keep an eye on the calendar for the next event.
